About Trausch Insurance
Our History
George Seidl founded what is now called Trausch Insurance Agency after the First World War. It offered a service to the legal profession on all court-related bonds with a concentration in the field of Probate.
As the business flourished, Charles Novak was added as a junior partner after the Second World War. Upon George Seidl’s retirement in 1967, Lawrence F. Trausch was added to the business. Lawrence Trausch then passed on the company to his son-in-law, Stephen Conlon.
Meet Stephen Conlon
I am an Insurance agent and the owner and operator of Trausch Insurance Agency. I have worked with the legal community since 1997 and have experience issuing all types of surety bonds, especially court-related bonds. Trausch Insurance Agency prides itself on providing information and service for all surety bond-related needs throughout the state of Illinois.
I was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1967. When I was 14 years old, I moved to the United States with my family and have lived in the Chicagoland area ever since. I enjoy spending time with my wife, two daughters, and son, who has now joined me in the family business.
Meet Patrick Conlon
I joined the family business in 2022 after graduating from Drake University, where I studied Economics, Mathematics, and Insurance. Since my start, I have been learning the ins and outs of running a business and taking on new responsibilities in the operations of Trausch Insurance Agency. Working with my dad and helping continue the company has been a privilege. My grand uncle, George Seidl, founded Trausch Insurance, which was then continued by my grandfather, Larry Trausch, and my father, Stephen Conlon. I am excited to be the next in 4 generations of bondsmen and pledge to carry on Trausch Insurance’s standard of excellent service.
I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am an avid sports fan and even played a little D1 football at my alma mater, Drake University.
